What was the News about Sakurajima Volcano?
The Kyodo News reported that The Sakurajima volcano in Kagoshima prefecture in southwestern Japan erupted on 16 November 2025 and sending ash and smoke as high as 4,400 meters (14,436 feet) or (4.4 kilometres).
What is Volcano?
A volcano is an opening in the Earth’s crust which allows magma, ash and gasses to erupt from below the surface

The volcano eruption is the sudden expulsion of magma, gas, and ash from a volcano’s vent.
How the eruption occur?
The eruption occurs when pressure builds from molten rock (magma) and gases deep within the Earth and forcing the material up through cracks in the crust and it can last days, months, or even years.

There are four major types of volcanic eruptions
01) Hawaiian – This type of eruption often forming “Fire Fountains” and also characterized by effusive eruptions of low-viscosity lava.
02) Strombolian – This type of eruption is like “fireworks,” from a volcano which Involves mild and intermittent bursts of magma.
03) Vulcanian – This type of eruptions are short-lived and moderately explosive which often form dense clouds of ash.
04) Plinian – This type of eruption are the most violent and explosive which generating towering columns of gas and ash that can reach high into the atmosphere

The classification of the volcanic eruptions are based on the style and intensity of the eruption which can from gentle lava flows to powerful and violent explosions.
