Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2020 – The Indian Coast Guard has notified for the recruitment for the post of Navik (DB) and invited Online Application for the same. The online application for Navik (DB) 10th Entry 01/2021 Batch will end on 07th December 2020.

Online Application are invited from Indian male candidates possessing educational qualifications and
age as prescribed below for recruitment to the post of Navik {Domestic Branch (Cook & Steward)} in
the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union.

Job Requirement

Cook – The selected candidates would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for efficient running of the organisation.
Steward – The selected candidate would be required to serve food in the Officer’s mess as waiters,
housekeeping, maintenance and accounting of funds, wine and stores handling, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for efficient running of the organisation.

Required Age & Age Relaxation

Minimum Age 18, Upper Age 22 years (as on 01 Apr 2021 i.e. born between 01 Apr 1999 to 31 Mar 2003, both dates are inclusive.) (Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates).

Educational Qualification

Minimum Educational Qualification is 10th Class with 50% marks in aggregate from a board of
Education recognized by Central / State Government (5% relaxation in above minimum cut off
will be given for SC / ST candidates and outstanding sports person of National level who have
obtained Ist , IInd or IIIrd position in any field of sports events at the Open National Championship/ Inter-state National Championship.

Medical Standards

1) Medical examination will be conducted by authorised Military Doctors as per Prescribed medical standards.
2) Height. Minimum height is 157 cms. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. orders.
3) Chest. Should be well proportioned. Minimum expansion 5 cms.
4) Weight. Proportionate to height and age + 10 percentage acceptable.
5) Hearing. Normal. Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed
from teeth prior to examination.
6) Visual Standard. 6/36 (Better Eye) and 6/36 (Worse Eye).
7) Tattoo. Permanent body tattoos are not permitted on any part of the body.

Pay, Perks and Other Benefits

Pay & Allowances – Starting Basic Pay Scale for Navik (DB) is 21700/- (Pay Level-3) plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty/place of posting as per the regulation enforced time-to-time.
Promotion – Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Pradhan Adhikari with pay scale 47600/- (Pay level 8) with Dearness Allowance.

Selection Procedure

The selection process is based on a Objective Type Test to be planned during the month of Early Jan 2021. The written examination will be of objective type, which will generally cover subjects Quantitative Aptitude, Mathematics, General Sciences, General English, General Awareness (Current Affairs & General Knowledge) and Reasoning (Verbal & Non-Verbal).
Those candidates who qualify written examination will undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Initial
Medical Examination (Preliminary). The testing procedure will take 2-3 days. Physically Challenged candidates are not eligible to apply for this examination.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT). PFT will be conducted for all candidates who qualify the written tests. All candidates are advised to be in possession of sport rig (Shoe, T-shirt, Trouser etc). The PFT will consist of following :-
1) 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes.
2) 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak).
3) 10 Push up. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
Based on the performance in the written examination and PFT, candidates will be shortlisted for medical examination in a ratio as may be decided by the Indian Coast Guard.
The select list will be prepared from the candidates who qualify in all the tests depending
upon the available vacancies.

Training – The basic training will commence in Apr 2021 at INS Chilka followed by sea training
and professional training in the allotted trade. Branch/trade will be allocated as per the requirement of
service and performance during basic training. Naviks are liable to be discharged as UNSUITABLE
due to unsatisfactory performance at any time during the training.

button. – The applicant must fill all the required information such as Name of the Candidate, Father and Mother’s name and date of birth should be as per 10th class certificate. in the online application.
– The applicant must also Fill up of information like personal e-mail ID and mobile number of the
candidates are compulsory. – The applicant must provides choice of only One Centre for examination.

Steps to Apply Online

– The applicant need to log on to the Website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in – Click the opportunity button and proceed.
– Select the advertisement for Recruitment of Navik (DB) (10th Entry) 01/2021 Batch.
– Select the post applied for – Navik (Domestic Branch).
– Click on the ‘I Agree’ button and the ‘Online Application’ will be displayed.
– Proceed to fill up the application {All Star (*) marked entries are compulsory and to be filled}.
– Applicants have to upload the photograph and signature in .jpeg format (image quality 200 dpi). The size of photograph and signature must be between 10 kb to 40 kb and 10 kb to 30 kb respectively.
– On completion of filling application, check your filled details once again prior clicking on the Submit button.
