CISF Assistant Commandants (Ex) Examination 2021


The UPSC has notified on their official website that the Union Public Service Commission will hold a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2021 for the post of Assistant Commandant (Executive) in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The Examination will be held at New Delhi on 14th March 2021.

The competitive examination will be conducted to be fill the tentative number of vacancies are as under – to be filled on the basis of the Examination will be 23 (General-18, SC-03, ST-02)


The Competitive Examination for the post of Assistant Commandant (Executive) is restricted to only the certain categories of departmental candidates of CISF. For details regarding eligibility conditions, the syllabus and scheme of the examination, physical/ medical standards etc., aspirants should consult the Rules of the Examination notified by Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India dated 02.12.2020 which may be downloaded from the CISF website at address

How to Apply

The eligible candidates are required to fill in the application form online on the UPSC’s
website The online application form can be filled from 2nd December, 2020 to 22nd December, 2020.
Candidates are also required to route a hard copy of the online-submitted application through proper channel to the CISF authorities at the address Director General, Central Industrial Security Force, 13, CGO Complex, Lodi Road, New Delhi110003, for verification and onward transmission to the Commission.

The e-Admission Certificates of the admitted candidates to this examination will be uploaded in the UPSC website two weeks before the date of examination and can be downloaded by the eligible candidates. No paper Admission Certificate will be issued by the Commission.

Exam Pattern

The written examination to be conducted by UPSC will comprise in two papers as under –

Paper – I General Ability and Intelligence and Professional Skill (300 Marks) (150 Questions) (Time allowed 2 hours and 30 minutes). This paper will be Objective Type (MCQ) in which the question will be set in bilingually in English as well as Hindi. The paper will comprise in two parts as follows –

Part AGeneral Ability and Intelligence75 Questions150 Marks
part BProfessional Skill75 Questions150 Marks

Paper II – Essay, Precis, Writing and Comprehensive – 100 Marks – Time allowed 2 hours
